Im really looking forward to this con but there isnt much going on from what i see =[ ! There are barely any panels and barely anything else! What is up probably wouldnt even be enough for a one day con >_>.

Tandokucon is only 2 weeks away and there still isnt much up and the schedule isnt even close to being finished. I would really like to see more panels and activities please!!! Before this con starts!!!

If even then. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me to discover that the finalized program has about double whatever is listed online, with last-minute changes maybe dropping about 1/8 more.

Wasnt a lot of the video programming canceled due to Tando not getting permission from Funimation?

They had a few things on their programming scedual... but those things were stuff that was licensed by one of the major US distribution companies. It may not have been funimation, but something like that. They had to pull that programming becasue when something is licensed you need to get permission to show it at a con, and Tandokucon hadn't gone through the proper permission stuff. I also believe that as long as you are a non-profit organization, and you have permission, its free to show licensed stuff, but I think you have to pay a fee if you are a for-profit organization like Tando states it is. Then again, Im not 100% positive on that exact rule. ^__^'

Well, anything has to get permission... whether its for profit or not. I'm just not sure whether or not a for profit organization has to pay a fee... I think they do but ::shrug::
It kinda doesn't matter anyway, since stuff got canceled due to Tandoku not getting the permission in the first place.

They didn't say it, but they had the show listings on the site. Then they mysteriously dissapeared. One of the volunteers that my friend knows found out that it was becasue they hadn't gotten permission to show the licensed stuff. I don't think they would actually mention that on their site.

Technically it doesn't matter what the event is, as long as they get permission (incidentally, if you have under 20-or-so people there, you actually don't need to get permission for individual screenings, so long as it's not open to the public, but rather a club event - this falls under the "showing a group of friends - category). If Funimation asked for money, and TCon didn't want to pay it, then that would certainly stop them, but it could just as easily be that Funimation didn't get back to them. The licensing companies can be pretty bad about turnaround times for responding to screening requests too.

Do you have any idea which titles were pulled. There are a ton of Funimation titles on the video list, as well as Viz, Bandai, Geneon(RIP), ADV, Right Stuf, Manga Entertainment, Synch-point, and Media Blasters.

So basically every major anime company has a presence in the video rooms, at least according to the video programming page.

What is kinda surprising is that they have XTV marked as 18+. That makes absolutely no sense, I would think that it is a misprint. Unless they just haven't ever seen it before and just decided because it was called "X"tv that it must be an adult title.

Also if that list is final then there is only one Hentai, no Yaoi or Shonen Ai(really shocking due to the fact that it has a large following of female anime fans), and no Yuri.

Considering they have Afro Samurai without the 18+ listing, I assume it either means that they think it is an 18+ show, or it'll be showing in the "18+ room," assuming there is one.
