let's face it, we do... without them, there'd be a lot less fun anime to watch. so, let's hear it!

which manga do you like to read?

which have inspired you to make your own original manga?

what genre draws you in almost instantly?

myself: can't go wrong with a little CLAMP! i loved rayearth, CCS, legend of chang hyun, etc. and i'm trying to keep up with TRR and XXXholic. i like a few a watase's books when i need my fix of cheesey romance (what? i'm a chick XP).

fantasy and traveling to distant, make-believe places always grabs me. i suppose i'm an escapist in that sense. that's what i draw, and that's what i love to read. of course, there has to be that bit of romance, action, drama and all in it as well.

fantasy is what made me want to draw my own stuff. though i have a long way to go, manga fans have had some great predecessors to inspire them Very Happy

I never learned to read! I mean-- I was raised to watch anime before I ever got hooked on manga. The only manga that I have ever read was Blade of the Immortal. I don't read much in general.

Though, I know that many times the Manga "is better than the anime," as I know from, "the book is better than the movie," I still like motion pictures and things. Show me a manga in red and blue, and give me a pair of 3D glasses, and then you've got a whole different story.

yeah, the anime has to be changed for budget and animation's sake, but the manga is usually better. CLAMP definitely inspires clothing designs for me (you can even tell through the darn mascot design XD).

nothing wrong with being more of an anime fan than a manga one, but most of the time people are right when they say "the manga was better." a lot of times the budget on the anime causes them to cut out really good pieces of the plot Sad.

making a 3d manga you say? that actually sounds like a really cool idea; i can see someone trying to make a 3d color page now Very Happy

Clamp is definately my favorites to read.

Currently I'm keeping up with:
XXXholic
Chibi Vampire
Moon Phase.

I've read all of Chobits and am planning to cosplay one of the characters. I've read a bunch of others that I can't think of at the moment (mainly because I just woke up).

I can't draw though, so making my own manga is out of the question for me. Sad

yeah, CLAMP is pretty much a staple for me Very Happy their works inspire a lot of my fantasy fascination, as much as good old occult books in general. odd as it may be, i never bought the chobits manga (i read some of it, but not all)... i've seen the entire anime though.

books of theirs that i love:

rayearth, XXXholic, TRC, CCS, Legend of chang hyun, the one i love, shirahime snow tales

i've seen most of their anime. i think one of the cutest ones was Angelic Layer.

My favorite manga that I've read would be Ultra Maniac. I think it's very interesting and funny.

Ah Manga. Besides Anime and it's merchandise where my money and my mom's money goes. I am a little nut with Fullmetal, I keep up with that. CLAMP is another favorite. I read Death Note, Ouran, and a bunch of stuff. My favorite is by Christy Liewjeski and even though it's only on one volume I am in love with it. RE:Play. Check it out!

Ultra Maniac is about a girl named Nina, who is a witch and she is a transfer student from a magic kingdom to earth. It's also an anime, so you can also watch it too.

Ones I have bought are:

Eureka Seven
Chibi Vampire
Tsukihime. Which needs to release more then one a year.
Warcraft Manga (I am a fanboy for Blizzard, but I broke free of WoW)

I would really like to read:

Battle Royle
Free Collar Kingdom
Trigun

Those I have read and enjoyed, some I haven't finished.:
Love Hina (First Manga)
Comic Party
Airgear
Beck
Alittle bit o Death Note
Some of Bleach
.Hack (the first group of manga's forget the name)
That might be it...

::Shrugs:: I like manga more then anime, but you will not beat anime in such on categories as Beck, or really any anime if you like music as much as I do.

Anyone have any experience with MangaNext?

I'm reading Fullmetal Alchemist, just finished vol. 9 and put a hold on the next few -- public library, as much as I'd love to own the series myself. And I've read some Bleach, but sadly that's all for now.

Edit: now waiting for 14. >.< So many plot twists!
